Audiken for students

Understand the lecture while it’s still happening.

Audiken listens to your lecture with you. It writes the transcript, and when a question, a new term or a formula comes up, it explains it in seconds from your own slides and readings. Afterwards it turns the lecture into flashcards, practice tests and study guides.

Accounts are opening a few at a time. No card needed, and one email when yours is ready.

One tool for the lecture, the week after, and the night before the exam

Most study apps start once the lecture is over. Audiken starts when your lecturer does.

During the lecture

A live transcript, with short answers appearing beside it when a question is asked, a term is new or a date is mentioned. Each one says which slide or page it came from.

After the lecture

The transcript is checked against your course files, misheard terms are fixed, side chatter is removed, and the lecture is filed by date and topic. Flashcards follow.

Before the exam

Practice tests in your exam’s format, a one-page cheat sheet, a day-by-day study schedule, and a tutor that asks before it tells.

Built from your own course

Add your slides, readings and course outline to a space. From then on, every answer, card and practice question comes from that material and from what was said in class.

Answers when the lecturer asks the room

The answer appears beside the transcript before the silence gets awkward, with the slide it came from. New terms, acronyms and formulas get a two-line explanation you can expand.

  • Ask your own question, or press “Catch me up” if you drifted
  • Tap “Mark” when something sounds important and you cannot write
  • One tap turns it off for a quiz or a test review

Flashcards that test you

One press builds decks for the whole course. Each card shows the lecture or page it came from, and a review schedule brings it back just before you would forget it.

  • Spaced repetition with no setup
  • Cards that ask why and how, not only what
  • Export to Anki whenever you like

Math, one step at a time

Type a problem or photograph it. Audiken solves it with the formulas and notation from your course, checks your own working, and writes fresh practice problems with new numbers.

  • Numbers are recomputed by a real calculator, not guessed
  • Tells you the first line where your working went wrong
  • A financial calculator in the key order of a BA II Plus

Practice in the format you will sit

Before it builds anything, Audiken checks what your outline says the test covers, what your lecturer said about it, and what past tests asked. Then it writes the practice test, the cheat sheet or the study schedule.

  • Knows what your lecturer said would be on the test
  • Marks your answers and tells you what to revisit
  • Study decks as real PowerPoint files

Deadlines, found for you

Audiken reads your course outline and listens for dates said in class, then keeps one list of every quiz, exam and assignment, with what each covers and what it is worth.

  • One list across all your courses
  • Catches the dates that were only said out loud
  • Export to your calendar

How it works

  1. Make a space for your course

Add your slides, readings and course outline. PDFs, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and photos of notes all work.

  2. Press record in the lecture

The transcript appears as it is said, and answers appear beside it. Type a note or mark a moment whenever you like.

  3. Study from what was taught

Review flashcards, take a practice test, ask the chat, or work a problem in the math tab. Everything comes from your course.

A study aid, not a way around the rules

Audiken is for understanding lectures and studying from them. It is not for tests, and it has an off switch for the moments your course says no. Lectures also include other people, so ask your instructor before you record. We wrote a short guide with an email you can send, and if you have an accommodation for recording, your accessibility office is the place to start.

Questions from students

Am I allowed to record my lectures?

That depends on your school and your lecturer. Many universities require the instructor’s permission. Ask first; our guide to asking permission has an email you can send.

Is this cheating?

Using it to understand a lecture and to study is the same as taking good notes and making flashcards. Using it in a test, or handing in what it writes as your own work, is a different matter. Follow your course’s rules, and switch it off when they say so.

Which subjects does it work for?

Any subject, because it works from the files you add. It has been used most for business, finance and economics courses taught in English, and the maths tools suit anything where an answer can be calculated.

Can it predict what will be on my exam?

No, and be wary of anything that claims to. It shows you what your lecturer emphasised and what past tests asked, with sources, so you can decide where to spend your time.

What does it cost?

The free plan includes 1 hour of recording a month and needs no card. Premium is $26.99 CAD a month for 8 hours of recording, a much larger AI allowance and our most capable AI.

Hear it once. Understand it now. Remember it for the exam.
