Transcription
Transcription that knows your subject
Record in your browser and watch the transcript appear as it is said. Afterwards Audiken reviews it against your files, fixes the names and terms the microphone got wrong, and files the session where you will find it again.
Accounts are opening a few at a time. No card needed, and one email when yours is ready.
More than a wall of text
- Live transcript with a time on every line
- Listens for your vocabulary: names, acronyms and terms taken from your files
- Your own notes, typed into the transcript at the moment you think of them
- Survives bad Wi-Fi: keeps recording through a dropped connection and catches up
- Reviewed afterwards: misheard terms fixed, side conversations removed, unclear parts flagged
- Filed for you by date and topic, with a short summary
The price elasticity of the man demand here is 0.5, so we call it inelastic.
That’s why a tax on cough he coffee falls mostly on the buyer.
How it works
Open a space and press record
Nothing to install. Your browser asks for the microphone once.
Follow along, or don’t
The transcript scrolls as people speak. Type a note or mark a moment; both land in the transcript at the right time.
Press finish
The review runs by itself. A few minutes later the cleaned transcript is in your space, with a list of what was changed.
Why transcripts usually go wrong
Real rooms are hard to transcribe: the speaker is far from your microphone, people nearby talk, and the words that matter most are the ones a speech recogniser has never seen, such as a client’s name, a product code or the acronyms of your field. Audiken deals with this twice. Before recording, it builds a list of up to fifty names, acronyms and terms from your files and tells the speech recogniser to listen for them. After recording, it reads the whole transcript against those files and corrects what still came out wrong.
What the review changes
The review fixes misheard words where your files make the right word clear, turns numbers and formulas that were spoken aloud into written ones, removes conversations that were not part of the session, and marks anything it could not make out instead of guessing. It then gives the session a title, a topic and a short summary. Every change is listed, and the untouched original is kept beside the reviewed version.
Nothing lost when the connection drops
Wi-Fi fails at the worst times. If the connection drops, Audiken keeps recording and holds the sound in your browser, for up to half an hour of lost connection. When it returns, it catches up at double speed, stamps each line with the time it was actually spoken, and tells you how far behind it is until it is level again.
What you can do with it afterwards
A transcript is the raw material. Once a session is in your space, you can ask questions about it and get a summary, action items or a follow-up with sources; build flashcards from it; and get practice tests that weigh what was emphasised.
Questions about transcription
How accurate is the transcription?
It depends on how well your microphone hears the speaker, so sit close if you can. Audiken improves on the raw result in two ways: it listens for the names and terms in your files, and it corrects the transcript against those files afterwards. It marks what it could not make out instead of inventing it.
Which languages does it support?
English today. Other languages are not supported yet.
Does it say who is speaking?
Not yet. Every line has its time, but the transcript does not label speakers by name.
Can I upload a recording I already have?
Not yet. Today Audiken transcribes as you record.
How long can I record?
The free plan includes 1 hour of recording a month and Premium includes 8 hours. A single recording can run as long as the session does.
Do you keep the audio?
Audiken does not store your audio. It is sent to a speech recognition service to be turned into text, and the text is what we keep. That service has its own retention rules, which the privacy policy sets out.
